Uganda has nearly the same population as Canada and only one tertiary hospital with the capacity to manage complex orthopaedic trauma injuries.

The mission of the Uganda Sustainable Trauma Orthopaedic Program (USTOP) involves undertaking humanitarian trips to Uganda, where we collaborate with Mulago Hospital to provide educational training and workshops for Ugandan surgical trainees, nurses, physiotherapists, and surgical support staff. We also engage in research initiatives aimed at improving trauma and orthopedic care in resource-limited settings, fostering sustainable advancements in healthcare practices.
